Ophelia and Steven celebrated with their family and friends at The Lodge at Malibou Lake in Agoura Hills, in a day that blended Chinese wedding traditions with lakeside vows in the Santa Monica Mountains. Their highlight film is in Cantonese, so you can hear the toasts and family moments in the language they were shared in.
Door Games and the Tea Ceremony
The morning began at Westlake Village Inn. Ophelia got ready with her bridesmaids in dusty blue, while Steven and his groomsmen arrived for the door games, taking on the bridesmaids' challenges before he could see his bride. Ophelia then changed into a red qipao for the tea ceremony by the fireplace, where she and Steven served tea to their parents and elders in a moment that brought happy tears.
Lakeside Vows on the Great Lawn
At The Lodge, the couple took portraits along Lake Vista Drive and the path beside Malibou Lake before guests gathered on the lawn. Yellow and white florals framed the ceremony, a tiny ring bearer stole the show on his way down the aisle, and Ophelia and Steven exchanged vows and shared a unity sand ceremony surrounded by their wedding party. Before heading inside, Ophelia tossed her bouquet on the lawn.
A Ballroom Reception
Under the chandeliers in the ballroom, the night brought heartfelt speeches from the wedding party and family, a first dance complete with a lift, a cake cutting, and desserts from Mr. & Mrs. Creamery. Guests added their fingerprints to a guest book tree, and the photo booth stayed busy all night.

About The Lodge at Malibou Lake
The Lodge at Malibou Lake is a historic venue built in 1936 in the Santa Monica Mountains of Agoura Hills, shaded by sycamore and oak trees beside a private lake and less than an hour from Los Angeles. Once the Malibou Lake Mountain Club, it reopened as The Lodge in 2017. Couples can say their vows on the Great Lawn, which hosts up to 275 guests, then celebrate in the Ballroom, which seats up to 180 with a dance floor. Catering is handled exclusively by Chef Cordelia. For portraits, plan time on the lakeside path and along Lake Vista Drive in the late afternoon. The Lodge is at 29033 Lake Vista Drive, Agoura Hills, CA 91301.
