A Turnip Rose Promenade Wedding in Costa Mesa

Xuemin and Alex love hiking, camping, cooking and traveling, and what makes them laugh most is each other's silliness. They married on September 21, 2024 at Turnip Rose Promenade in Costa Mesa, after a morning of door games in Rosemead and a tea ceremony at Alex's parents' house in San Gabriel. Xuemin wore red for the morning and lace for the ceremony, with bridesmaids in blush, groomsmen in gray and white roses throughout. The day moved from a first look in the vineyard to vows under the white gazebo, sunset portraits in the vines and a full dance floor in the ballroom. Door Games in Rosemead

The morning started at a family home in Rosemead, where Xuemin got ready in a red lace cheongsam. Alex and his groomsmen had to earn their way in with push ups, quizzes and red envelopes, and Biscuit, their poodle, joined in for photos.

Tea Ceremony in San Gabriel

Next they headed to Alex's parents' house in San Gabriel for a traditional tea ceremony. Xuemin and Alex served tea from a red tea set to family on the living room sofa, and every cup came with blessings and a few laughs.

Xuemin Gets Ready at the Turnip Rose

At Turnip Rose Promenade, Xuemin changed into a lace mermaid gown with a long train, then stepped out into the vineyard rows with her bridesmaids in blush.

Alex and the Groomsmen

Alex and his groomsmen in gray started with a toast in the groom's room before heading out under the pines on the lawn.

A First Look in the Vineyard

First look was one of the moments Xuemin and Alex were most excited about. Alex waited in the vineyard rows while Xuemin walked up behind him.

We stayed in the vines for a few more portraits, then moved to the white gazebo, where the ceremony would take place later that afternoon.

The Wedding Party

Blush gowns and gray suits looked great against the green of the vineyard, and this crew was in a celebrating mood from the start.

Ceremony at the Turnip Rose Gazebo

The ceremony took place on the lawn in front of the white gazebo at Turnip Rose Promenade, draped in white with white roses. The ring bearers rode down the aisle in a toy car, Xuemin read her vows to Alex, and Raymond Zhong officiated.

Sunset in the Vineyard

Right before dinner the sun dropped low behind the vines, and we took Xuemin and Alex back into the rows for the warmest light of the day.

Grand Entrance and First Dance

The wedding party danced their way into the ballroom before Xuemin and Alex shared their first dance, another moment at the top of their list.

Friends gave toasts from the floor, then Xuemin and Alex cut their cake and thanked everyone for coming.
