Vivian & Yao at The Villa
November 16, 2025 · The Villa, Westminster
A Villa Wedding in Westminster
Vivian and Yao met on a bike ride from the SFSU campus to downtown San Francisco. Vivian loves cute little things and psychology, Yao is a self described quirky nerd who loves gadgets, and between her dad jokes and his playful sarcasm they keep each other laughing. They married on November 16, 2025 at The Villa in Westminster, with a Vietnamese tea serving at the ceremony and a Mien door greeting before the reception. Here is their Villa wedding, photographed by One and Only Production.
The Details
Vivian and Yao's details were simple and personal: matching black leather watches, a green velvet ring box, his and hers vow books and a childhood photo tucked in with Yao's tie.
Vivian Gets Ready
Vivian got ready at The Villa in Westminster, then stepped out into the courtyard in a Sarah Seven gown and cathedral veil, with her bridesmaids in ivory and red under the red lanterns.
Yao and His Groomsmen
Yao wore a navy suit and spent a few minutes behind the wheel of a vintage black car before a groomsman helped him into his jacket.
First Look and Portraits at The Villa
Vivian stepped through the iron doors and walked up to Yao in the courtyard for their first look. The white arches, red lanterns and the vintage car made for a full set of portraits right on the property.
Wedding Party and Family
The wedding party wore black, ivory and red, and Vivian and Yao made sure to gather parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles under the courtyard arches.
The Villa Ballroom
The ballroom at The Villa was set with round tables, chandeliers and a greenery arch over the sweetheart table, with family photos on the welcome table.
Ceremony and Vietnamese Tea Serving
The ceremony opened with a Vietnamese tea serving for family before Vivian walked down the aisle. Dave Davenport officiated, and they walked back up the aisle as husband and wife.
Mien Door Greeting
After the ceremony, Yao's family hosted a Mien door greeting, with elders in embroidered dress and red turbans welcoming guests before the reception.
Grand Entrance and First Dance
The emcee from 949 Studio brought the wedding party in, and Vivian and Yao had their first dance by the greenery arch.
Speeches, Games and Table Visits
Friends shared speeches, the groomsmen went all in on the reception games, and Vivian and Yao visited every table.
Cake, Ice Cream and the Dance Floor
They cut a white cake topped with roses, the Afters Ice Cream truck was parked outside, and Vivian changed into a short dress for the dance floor.
