About Villa del Sol d'Oro
Villa del Sol d'Oro is a 1920s Tuscan-style villa in the San Gabriel Mountain foothills of Sierra Madre, designed by the noted architect Wallace Neff as a replica of a villa near Florence. Today it sits on the grounds of Alverno Heights Academy, is on Sierra Madre's local historic landmark list and has appeared in films such as The Princess Diaries and Legally Blonde. Couples marry in the formal gardens, take portraits on the grand stone staircase and loggia, and dine under string lights on the courtyard terrace.
For a wedding film, few places in the San Gabriel Valley look as cinematic: warm golden walls, arched colonnades, tall cypress and pine trees, and a terrace that glows after sunset. It is only a short drive from our home base in West Covina.
