A Malaga Cove and Palos Verdes Engagement Session

Victoria and Andrew's engagement session took them from a Mediterranean-style village to the edge of the Pacific in one afternoon. We started at Malaga Cove Plaza in Palos Verdes Estates, with its brick arches, bougainvillea and ornate fountain, then headed to the Palos Verdes coastline for golden bluffs, a pebble beach and a sunset over the water. Victoria wore a flowing white dress and Andrew kept it relaxed in earth tones, a pairing that works just as well against old stone as it does against the ocean. Arches and Bougainvillea at Malaga Cove Plaza

Malaga Cove Plaza feels like a small Mediterranean village, with a Spanish-style tower, brick archways and walls of pink bougainvillea. Every corner gives a different frame, so we moved slowly through the arches and let Victoria and Andrew settle in before the ring close-ups.

The Fountain at Malaga Cove Plaza

The plaza's ornate fountain is one of the most recognizable spots in Palos Verdes Estates. We used the bright afternoon light around it for a set of airy portraits of Victoria in her white dress.

The Palos Verdes Coastline Trail

Next we headed to the coast, where the trail drops from golden bluffs down to a rocky beach. The wide views of the cove and cliffs gave us room for big scenic frames, and the sea breeze did the rest.

Sunset on the Palos Verdes Coast

We timed the session to end at golden hour. As the sun sank toward the Pacific, the light turned warm across the trail and the shoreline, and we finished with silhouettes against the sunset.
