What a Day at Venue by Three Petals Really Looks Like

Venue by Three Petals on Beach Boulevard in Huntington Beach is a blank-canvas ballroom venue: white draped walls, crystal chandeliers and an in-house catering team. Many of our couples pair it with a church ceremony earlier in the day. This guide walks through the real schedule from Teresa and Jimmy's September 26, 2026 wedding, planned by Plans by Ann, with a ceremony at Christ Cathedral and the reception at Three Petals. We filmed their day from 2:00 to 10:00 PM. The video stills and films on this page come from Somrennah and Jaemin's Venue by Three Petals wedding, which we also filmed, so you can see how each part of the night looks in the room.

Noon to 4:30 PM · Getting Ready and the Ceremony

Teresa and Jimmy got ready at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach, shared a first look at 12:50 and married at Christ Cathedral at 2:30, with family, wedding party and couple photos at the cathedral until 4:30. If you are doing a church ceremony, plan the drive to Three Petals into the timeline the way they did: a 4:30 departure for a 5:00 reception call time. Couples who want everything in one place can also hold the ceremony on site, like Somrennah and Jaemin did outside the venue.

5:00 PM · Room Reveal and Golden Hour

The ballroom was photo ready at 5:00, and Teresa and Jimmy walked in for a private room reveal at 5:30, before any guests arrived. That half hour is the only time the room is fully set and completely empty, so it is worth protecting. They also practiced their first dance and stepped out for golden hour portraits, since late September sunset was at 6:42.

6:00 PM · Cocktail Hour

Cocktail hour opened at 6:00 with an open bar and welcome photos at the 8bit photo booth. Teresa and Jimmy skipped appetizers and planned three hours of open bar, from 6:00 to 7:00 and again from 8:00 to 10:00. This is also when vendors take their meal break, so your photo and video team is fed and back in the room before the entrance.

7:00 PM · Grand Entrance and First Dance

Guests were seated at 7:00 while the couple grabbed a few more portraits outside. The grand entrance followed at 7:10 and the first dance at 7:15. Under the chandeliers and white drapery, the dance floor glows on camera, and it is the shot that defines a Three Petals reception.

7:20 PM · Parent Dances, Introductions and Welcome Speech

Father-daughter and mother-son dances came next, then family introductions at 7:25 and a welcome speech from Teresa's dad with the couple's thank you at 7:30. Keeping all of the formalities in one block before dinner meant guests could relax and eat without more interruptions.

7:35 PM · Dinner, Outfit Change and Late Night Stations

Dinner service began at 7:35 while Teresa changed into her second dress and hairstyle, about 30 minutes. The night had a boba bar from 7:30 to 10:30, Italian ice from 8:00 to 10:00, and self-serve Raising Cane's and In-N-Out stations opening at 9:45. Spreading the treats across the night kept guests in the room and on the dance floor.

8:10 PM · Cake Cutting and Table Greetings

Cake cutting at 8:10 led straight into table greetings at 8:20 across 15 tables. Thirty minutes for 15 tables is about two minutes each, enough for a hello and a quick group photo. The couple finally sat down to eat at 9:00, after photos at the boba and Italian ice stations.

9:10 PM · Games, Bouquet Toss and Dance Party

The MC ran a scavenger hunt at 9:10 while the couple had their meal break, then a Jellycat floral bouquet toss open to everyone at 9:20. A group photo on the dance floor at 9:25 kicked off the dance party. Our video coverage ran until 10:00, which Teresa chose on purpose so the film would include more of the dancing.

11:00 PM · The Send Off

Teresa and Jimmy's reception ended at 11:00. If you want a grand exit, the front of the venue works beautifully at night, as Somrennah and Jaemin's sparkler exit shows. Schedule it before your photo and video coverage ends, not after the last song.

Planning Your Venue by Three Petals Wedding Timeline?

The big lessons: build the drive from your church into the schedule, protect the empty room reveal, use the sunset window for portraits, group the speeches and parent dances before dinner, and give table greetings about two minutes per table. One and Only Production is a photo and video team based in West Covina, serving Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Watch Somrennah and Jaemin's Venue by Three Petals films or see our wedding portfolio, and tell us about your day.
