An Oak Canyon Nature Center Wedding in Anaheim

Shayna and Robert met in 4th grade, but they did not become close friends until junior year of high school, when they ran into each other at the park on July 4th. They married on November 29, 2025, starting with a door game and tea ceremony at Shayna's family home in Alhambra, then a first look and ceremony under the oaks at Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim Hills. Bridesmaids wore rose, groomsmen wore tan, and the florals ran from peach to burgundy. The night ended with a banquet and a packed dance floor at 888 Seafood Restaurant in Rosemead. The Door Game in Alhambra

The day started at Shayna's family home in Alhambra. Robert and his groomsmen arrived with red gift boxes, and the bridesmaids made them earn their way inside with a round of door game challenges on the front lawn.

The Tea Ceremony

Inside, two chairs waited in front of red double happiness decorations. Shayna and Robert served tea to their families, one pour at a time, with a spread of traditional dishes set out for the occasion.

First Look at Oak Canyon Nature Center

In the afternoon everyone moved to Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim Hills. Shayna's bridesmaids saw her first, then Robert waited on the trail under the oaks until she tapped him on the shoulder.

The Wedding Party Under the Oaks

Seven bridesmaids in rose gowns and six groomsmen in tan suits filled the oak woodland. We photographed each side on its own, then brought everyone together, and it got loud quickly.

Portraits at Oak Canyon Nature Center

The oak canopy at Oak Canyon gives soft, even light all afternoon. Shayna and Robert laughed their way through portraits on the trail, a golden dog joined in for a few frames, and we came back after dark for a couple of flash portraits by the arch.

Ceremony Under the Oak Canopy

The ceremony was set on the outdoor stage at Oak Canyon Nature Center, with a floral arch of peach, pink, orange and burgundy roses and candles along the benches. Shayna and Robert said their vows with their wedding party beside them, then gathered family for photos on the trail as the sun went down.

Reception at 888 Seafood Restaurant

The reception moved to 888 Seafood Restaurant in Rosemead, where the banquet hall was set with red napkins, rose centerpieces and a sweetheart table dressed in the same warm florals as the ceremony.

The Grand Entrance

The groomsmen came in wearing sunglasses, the bridesmaids danced in behind them, and Shayna and Robert walked into a room full of cheering guests.

First Dance and Parent Dances

Shayna and Robert shared their first dance under the chandelier and finished it with a lift. The parent dances followed, with plenty of laughing on both sides.

Speeches and Table Visits

Friends and family took the microphone at the sweetheart table, and Shayna and Robert made their way around the room to see their guests.

Reception Games

Then came the games. Shayna and Robert held up their paddles, and the room laughed along at every answer, a good match for a couple who say they laugh most at each other's silly mistakes.

Cutting the Cake

Their two tier cake from Sunny Bakery in Rosemead was finished with orange florals and a little cartoon version of the two of them on top.

The Dance Floor

Shayna and Robert were most excited for the big party at the end of the night, and it delivered. The dance floor filled up and stayed that way until the last song.
