A Door Game and Tea Ceremony in San Gabriel

Pauline and Kenneth met through a mutual friend in college over a Skype study session. They both live for exploring new places and good food, and Ken can famously nap anywhere. On November 9, 2025, before their wedding at the Richard Nixon Library, the day started at Pauline's family home in San Gabriel with a door game, followed by a tea ceremony with Pauline's family and a second one with Ken's family. The Door Game

Ken and his groomsmen in grey suits showed up ready, and Pauline's bridesmaids in pink made them earn it, with push ups on the driveway, red envelopes and a few more challenges before the door finally opened.

Pauline in Red

Pauline wore a red qipao with floral embroidery, finished with red heels and her hair swept up, against the double happiness papercuts at home.

Together at Last

Once the door game was won, Ken came up to find Pauline, and the two of them had a few quiet minutes together before the tea began.

Tea Ceremony with Pauline's Family

Pauline's family home in San Gabriel was dressed in red, with a roast pig by the family altar. Pauline and Ken served tea to her parents and relatives, who welcomed them with gold jewelry and blessings.

Tea Ceremony with Ken's Family

Then everyone moved to Ken's family home for the second tea ceremony, where his grandma, parents and relatives took their turn, and the youngest member of the family stole a few photos.
