An Intimate Wedding in San Gabriel

Mai and Bobby met on a dating website at the end of 2019 and soon found out they lived in the same townhouse complex, which turned out to be perfect timing once the pandemic hit. These days their weekends are made of errands together and trips to San Diego and Las Vegas, and they never stop laughing at corny jokes and each other's grammar slips, like "Bobston Loster." They married on June 26, 2026, at the Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel with about 50 of their closest family and friends, in a palette of lavender, navy, silver and gold. Lavender and Navy Details

Mai and Bobby's details set the tone for the day: a gold Mr and Mrs sign, lavender and navy blooms, their rings on the invitation, heart sunglasses for later and a pair of Stitch and Angel figures.

Mai Getting Ready

Mai got ready in the bridal suite at the Sheraton with her bridesmaids Lisa and Linna, her friends since junior high, with makeup by Angela Tam and a bouquet from Sola Wood Flowers. Then she stepped into her Azazie gown, and the bridesmaids wore plum and lavender.

Bobby and the Guys

Bobby got ready with his groomsmen, his older brother Alex and his cousin Michael, in his Indochino suit, and the guys shared a toast before heading over for the door games.

Door Games

Mai's bridesmaids guarded the door with double happiness signs, and Bobby and the guys had to earn their way in with red envelopes and plenty of laughs.

Tea Ceremony

Mai wore red for a quick Chinese tea ceremony in the suite, serving tea to their families and receiving red envelopes and jewelry before they said I do.

Portraits and the Wedding Party

Mai and Bobby stepped outside to the Sheraton's courtyard for a few portraits, then joined Lisa, Linna, Alex and Michael inside by the red floral wall and the ceremony arch.

Ceremony in the Opal Room

The ceremony took place in the Opal Room West, with arched windows, colorful pendant lights and a gold arch draped in dusty blue with lavender and mauve florals. Mai walked down the aisle to Bobby, and the two said I do in front of their family and friends.

The reception was set in the other half of the Opal Room West with lavender centerpieces and table numbers featuring photos of landmarks, and Mai and Bobby cut a white cake with purple florals.

Live Violin and Sunglasses

Mai wore red again for the evening while Jeff Lu played live violin during dinner, and before long the heart sunglasses came out, from the couple to their guests, for a round of toasts and photos at every table.
