A Surf & Sand Resort Wedding in Laguna Beach

Kylie and Mario met through family. Ask them about each other and you hear words like easy going, thoughtful and fun, hardworking, patient and caring, and they still laugh most at their inside jokes and at teasing each other. They married on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Surf & Sand Resort in Laguna Beach, with a ceremony under a pastel floral arch on an oceanfront terrace and a reception in the resort's ballroom. Their planner MJ of Blush Events kept everything soft and dreamy in peach, lavender, blush and white. The day ran from getting ready in ocean view rooms to a first look, a breezy ceremony, toasts, games and a packed dance floor. The Details

Kylie and Mario's morning started with a soft flat lay of pastel blooms, their wedding rings in a hexagon ring box, and two steel watches with blue and green dials. Mario's side held black dress shoes, silver cufflinks and his cologne.

Kylie Gets Ready at Surf & Sand Resort

Kylie's lace gown hung by the window of her ocean view room at Surf & Sand Resort. She got ready in a white robe, then stepped into her gown on the balcony with the palms just outside, and a family member helped with her veil.

Before the ceremony we took a few minutes with Kylie on her own. Her long veil spread across the garden path, and her bouquet of peach, lavender and blush flowers matched the arch waiting on the terrace.

Mario Gets Ready at Surf & Sand Resort

Mario got ready in his own ocean view room in a black tuxedo with a bow tie and a white boutonniere. His close friends helped with his jacket and kept him laughing.

First Look on the Balcony

Mario waited at the balcony rail while Kylie walked up behind him. When he turned around, she could not stop laughing, and they stayed wrapped up in each other for a while.

Portraits at Surf & Sand Resort

We started portraits in the garden courtyard by the stone fountain, then moved out to the oceanfront terrace. The ocean breeze kept lifting Kylie's veil, and the floral arch made a perfect frame before guests arrived.

Ceremony Details on the Oceanfront Terrace

The ceremony was set on an oceanfront terrace at Surf & Sand Resort, with rows of wooden chairs facing a round arch of peach, lavender and pink flowers and the Pacific behind it. A clear welcome sign, baskets of petals and a blue floral guest book waited by the aisle.

The Ceremony

Their uncle officiated as family walked down the aisle and two flower girls tossed petals. Kylie read her vows under the arch, Mario slipped on her ring, and after their first kiss they walked back up the aisle to cheers.

After the ceremony, family and friends gathered on the terrace for photos in front of the arch and the ocean.

Reception in the Ballroom at Surf & Sand Resort

The reception moved inside to the resort's ballroom, set with cross back chairs, white linens and low pastel centerpieces. The sweetheart table sat in front of another round floral arch. Kylie and Mario got a private room reveal and an early dance before anyone else came in.

Grand Entrance and First Dance

Guests cheered as Kylie and Mario danced through the doors, Kylie now in a second, shorter dress. They shared their first dance on the white dance floor, and then each of them shared a parent dance.

Speeches

Family and friends took the microphone in front of the sweetheart table. There were plenty of laughs, and at one point Mario threw both arms in the air.

Table Greetings and Games

Kylie and Mario made their way around the room to toast every table, and their friends jumped and cheered around them. Reception games had guests out of their seats and cheering.

Dance Floor

949 Studio opened up the dance floor under purple and blue lights, and everyone piled in for a group photo. Kylie changed into a short lace dress and sneakers and danced with her friends late into the night.
