Jadee & Richard at The Harper

A Harper Wedding in Costa Mesa

Jadee and Richard grew up as best friends who lived five houses apart, so yes, the Richard from down the street is the one she married. They love the little everyday moments: inside jokes, playful teasing, funny shows and taking care of their dogs. On October 12, 2025 they married at The Harper by Wedgewood Weddings in Costa Mesa, with all of the most important people in their lives in one place. The palette was champagne, wine burgundy and white, with bridesmaids in burgundy and groomsmen in black tuxedos. The day moved from getting ready in Newport Beach to a tea ceremony in qipao, a first look in the garden, an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception. Here is their Harper wedding, photographed by One and Only Production.

The Details

Jadee and Richard's flat lay stayed true to their palette of champagne, wine burgundy and white: his and hers vow books, the invitation suite, rings, heels, and Richard's black shoes and bow tie, all styled with white roses and green orchids.

Jadee Gets Ready in Newport Beach

Jadee started the day at a rental on the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach, in a bright white room with her gown hanging by the window. Her bridesmaids got ready right alongside her in matching robes.

Richard's Game Day

Richard called it game day. He and his groomsmen started out on the streets of Newport Beach, then got dressed in the library style suite at The Harper, with red ties for the groomsmen and a black bow tie for Richard.

The Tea Ceremony at The Harper

Once they arrived at The Harper, Jadee changed into a burgundy qipao with gold embroidery. The tea ceremony took place in the garden, with red tea trays and a red welcome sign, as Jadee and Richard served tea to their families. Family photos in qipao followed.

Jadee in Her Gown at The Harper

Next Jadee changed into her wedding gown in the bridal suite at The Harper. Her bridesmaids in burgundy helped with a long cathedral veil and an even longer train.

First Look in the Garden

Richard waited among the olive trees in the garden at The Harper while Jadee walked up behind him, with the bridal party watching from the edges. A forehead kiss and a lot of smiles followed.

The Wedding Party

Jadee's side was Maggie, Sabrina, Erica, Melysa, Wesley and Kevin, and Richard's side was Joey, Chris, Alan, Alex, Jon and Kenneth. Bridesmaids in burgundy with white bouquets and groomsmen in black tuxedos made for a bold group in the garden.

Portraits Under the Veil at The Harper

Before the ceremony we spent time with Jadee and Richard around the garden at The Harper, under her veil against the ivy covered walls and out among the olive trees.

Ceremony at The Harper

The outdoor ceremony began at 5pm, with wooden chairs, white florals and string lights overhead. Two adult flower boys in sunglasses tossed petals down the aisle, officiant Stanley Doll led the vows, and Jadee and Richard walked back up the aisle as husband and wife.

Reception Details

Inside, the reception room at The Harper was set with long tables in white linens, burgundy menus and white florals under the chandeliers, with the sweetheart table framed by gold mirrors. Cream puffs and cupcakes waited on the dessert table.

Portraits in the Reception Room and Library

Before guests came in, Jadee and Richard had the reception room to themselves. Then they curled up on a leather sofa in the library suite with a couple of wedding newspapers.

Grand Entrance and First Dance

The bridal party came in pairs, with props and a few surprise moves, before Jadee and Richard made their grand entrance. They went straight into their first dance, complete with spins, a dip and a lift.

Speeches and the Father Daughter Dance

Friends and family took the microphone beside the sweetheart table, and the room spent most of it laughing. Then Jadee shared the father daughter dance.

Cake, Bouquet Toss and the Dance Floor

Jadee and Richard cut a white cake trimmed with white roses, Jadee tossed her bouquet, and the dance floor at The Harper stayed full for the rest of the night.
