An In-Home Family Session in Irvine

At three months, a baby changes almost every day: bigger smiles, a stronger neck, hands that suddenly discover feet, and little sounds that make the whole house stop and listen. Mary and Jeremy wanted to hold on to this stage before it slipped by, so we came to them for an in-home family session at their home in Irvine, Orange County. We started outside among the roses along the front wall, spread a blanket on the lawn, then moved inside to the soft window light of the living room and bedroom. The palette came together on its own: sage green, warm cream, and a dusty blue romper on the smallest member of the family. Roses by the Front Door

We began right outside, where climbing roses frame a cream wall and give the photos a gentle garden feel without leaving home. Jeremy held the baby up high while Mary leaned in, and the giggles started almost immediately. A few easy family portraits here set the tone for the rest of the afternoon.

Mary and the Baby

Some of the quietest moments of the day belonged to Mary. Forehead kisses, a sleepy head tucked under her chin, a few slow minutes on the couch where nothing needed to happen at all. These are the photos that show what the first three months really felt like.

The Little Details

At this age everything is tiny, and it does not stay that way for long. Toes curled in a parent's palm, their wedding rings resting on those little feet, chubby fingers wrapped around a thumb, and a heart framed by Mom and Dad's hands.

Jeremy and the Baby

Jeremy's time came with a lot of nose-to-nose closeness and a few big lifts by the roses. Whether the baby was dozing on his chest or looking right up at him, the trust between the two of them was easy to see.

Three Months of Personality

Then it was the baby's turn. That full head of dark hair, wide curious eyes, a few surprised expressions and some very proud tummy time on the bed. Three months is the age when a real personality starts to show, and this little one had plenty of it.

A Blanket on the Lawn

We brought a soft white blanket out onto the grass for a few minutes of fresh air. Lying side by side with the baby between them, Mary and Jeremy finally got to just look at each other and laugh.

A Slow Afternoon in Bed

The bedroom was where everyone relaxed the most. White sheets, soft light from the window, and all three of them lined up on their bellies trading kisses and smiles. These are the frames that feel the most like their everyday life at home.

One Last Look Inside

We finished at the front door, with the three of them wrapped together in the doorway and the light falling in from outside. A simple, honest way to close out a session about the place where it all happens.
