A Hilton San Gabriel Wedding

Candice and Vincent love trying new boba shops, watching reality shows and taking their daughter to Disneyland. They wanted their June 15, 2024 wedding at Hilton San Gabriel to feel like one big party with their closest friends and family, and it did. The day started with door games and two tea ceremonies, moved to portraits at Pasadena City Hall, and ended with a ceremony on the Garden Terrace and a reception in the San Gabriel Ballroom with a lion dance entrance. Candice Gets Ready

The morning started early at an Airbnb in Alhambra. Candice and her bridesmaids got ready in matching robes before she stepped into her lace mermaid gown, with her maid of honor Brittnie by her side.

Vincent and His Groomsmen

Vincent got ready with his best man Chris and groomsmen Calvin, Co and Richard, all in black suits.

Traditional Outfits

Before the tea ceremonies, Candice changed into a red and gold qipao and Vincent into a red embroidered jacket, with the bridesmaids in gold.

Door Games and Two Tea Ceremonies

Vincent and his groomsmen had to earn their way in through the door games at Candice's family home in Los Angeles, then the couple served tea to both families, first on Candice's side and then at Vincent's family home in Monterey Park.

A First Look at the Airbnb

Back in Alhambra, Candice changed into her gown and walked up behind Vincent on the patio for their first look.

We spent the early afternoon at Pasadena City Hall with Candice, Vincent and their wedding party, using the long arched colonnade, the stairs and the terrace below the dome.

Ceremony on the Garden Terrace

The ceremony was on the Garden Terrace at Hilton San Gabriel, with blush and white florals by Peachy Petals lining the aisle and a white gazebo behind it. Candice's cousin Douglas officiated, and Candice walked down the aisle with her mom.

Before guests came in, Candice and Vincent had a few minutes alone in the San Gabriel Ballroom, with its chandeliers, white drapery and their names on the dance floor.

Lion Dance and Grand Entrance

The wedding party danced in spelling out HOANG in giant letters, then the Immortals lion dancers formed an archway for Candice and Vincent and followed them to their table.

Candice and Vincent danced on a cloud of fog, and their daughter joined them before the toasts from the maid of honor and the groomsmen.

Cake, Bouquet and Garter

They cut their three tier cake from Sunny Bakery, Candice tossed her bouquet, and the groomsmen went all out for the garter.

With glow sticks out and the lights turned purple, the dance floor stayed full for the rest of the night.
